Navid Mohammadzadeh wins Best Actor award in Russia

Iranian actor Navid Mohammadzadeh has been named the Best Actor at the 13th edition of the International Film Festival “East&West. Classics and Avant Garde” in Russia.

Mohammadzadeh won the Best Actor for his role in ‘The Warden’, directed by Nima Javidi.

The plot of ‘The Warden’ revolves around Nemat Jahed, the chief of a prison which is about to be evacuated as part of an airport expansion project.

In the midst of transferring the prisoners to a new facility, one of the inmates has gone missing, putting Jahed’s professional reputation on the line.

Besides Navid Mohammadzadeh, the film is starring Parinaz Izadyar.

‘The Warden’ also received a special prize of the Russian event’s sponsor.

The 13th edition of the International Film Festival “East&West. Classics and Avant Garde” took place on August 21-26.
